The Lake Forest College women's basketball team defeated visiting Lawrence University 52-37 Tuesday evening on the Foresters' final game of the fall semester. Sophomore forward Brie Majkowski led the home team with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Majkowski shot 5-for-11 from the field and 4-for-6 from the foul line for her second-highest scoring output of the season. She is now second on the squad with 9.0 points per game so far this year.

After allowing Lawrence to shoot 40.9 percent from the field in the first half, Lake Forest led by just three at 25-22 at halftime. The Vikings made just four of 29 field goal attempts after intermission.
Lawrence scored the game's first five points and led 13-10 before a 9-2 run gave the Foresters the lead. The margin reached as many as five points before halftime but was just three at the break. A traditional three-point play by the Vikings early in the second half tied the score at 25 but Lake Forest outscored Lawrence 18-5 over the next 13 minutes. The lead remained in double figures the rest of the way.
The Foresters are now 3-5 overall this season and 3-3 in Midwest Conference play. Lawrence is still winless in six contest, including four league games.
