Lake Forest College men's hockey player Charlie Izaguirre was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after helping lead his team to a pair of victories on the road over the weekend.
Izaguirre, a senior forward, assisted on the only goal of Friday night's 1-0 triumph at Marian University. It came at the 6:24 mark of the opening period and the visitors held on the rest of the way for the victory.
Lake Forest also prevailed 6-1 Saturday night at Lawrence University and Izaguirre scored the first and last goals of the contest. He also set up a short-handed goal that broke a 1-1 tie in the second period and proved to be the game-winning score. It was his second career two-goal game with the other coming against Lawrence in February of 2016. His three points on the evening also matched his previous single-game high.
Izaguirre now has four goals on the season and he has reached double figures in points for the third year in a row.
NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's directors of public relation and sports information.
