The Lake Forest College women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 at Grinnell College on Saturday.
The Pioneers scored the only goal on the first shot of the game just three minutes and 14 seconds into the contest.
The home team had a 3-2 edge in shots in the first half and a 6-5 advantage in the second.
Forester junior Paige Thiel was the team's goalkeeper for the first half and made a pair of saves. Freshman Maggie Kersting began her collegiate debut at halftime and recorded one save in a scoreless 45 minutes of play.
The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 4-7-0 and the team is now 0-3-0 in Midwest Conference play. Grinnell improved to 4-3-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the league.
Lake Forest will continue it's weekend trip to Iowa at Cornell College on Sunday. Gametime will be 1:30 p.m.
