The Forester women's golf team posted a score of 350 on Saturday and sits in second place in the standings after day one of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.

Lake Forest trails Grinnell College by 21 stroke and is ahead of third-place Iowa Wesleyan University by 18.

The event is being played on the 6,001-yard par-72 course at The Links in Jacksonville, Illinois.

The Foresters' top golfer in the opening round was freshman Chloe Morrissey, whose 79 has her in second place in the individual standings but still six shots behind the leader. Morrissey carded birdies on 9 and 12 and added nine pars on the day.

Senior Amanda Lee is next on the team and tied-for-fifth out of 34 players at the event with an 82. She had eight pars and was no worse than bogey on any hole.

Forester freshman Makayla Sanchez is tied-for-12th with an 88 and junior Grace Black is tied-for-20th with a round of 101. Senior Makenzie Kamm's score of 123 has her in 29th.

Sunday's final round is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
