The Forester men's tennis team hosted and defeated North Central College 9-0 and Milwaukee School of Engineering 7-2 at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff on Saturday. Junior Mike Riley was one of two Lake Forest players to go 4-0 on the day.
Riley and senior Derek Schaltz posted an 8-5 victory at #3 doubles against North Central and an 8-6 triumph against M.S.O.E. Riley also swept his match-ups at #3 singles, winning 6-1, 6-2 in the first match of the day and 7-5, 6-4 in the second.
Forester sophomore Dragan Trivanovic also won all four of his matches on Saturday, including both #2 doubles matches with freshman Nick Rehm by the same 8-5 score. Trivanovic also came out on top of a 6-3, 6-3 decision at #5 singles against North Central and recorded a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the same spot in the lineup against the Raiders.
Lake Forest freshman Dan Pivonka and sophomore Ellis Lora-Arceo started their day with an 8-4 win at #1 doubles against North Central. Pivonka went on to defeat the top singles player from North Central 6-2, 6-2 while Lora-Arceo took both sets at #2 by the same 6-2 score. Rehm added a 6-2, 6-3 victory at #4 singles and junior Jordan Stoler prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at #6.
Pivonka made quick work of his #1 singles counterpart at M.S.O.E., winning 6-0, 6-1. Lora-Arceo also blanked his opponent 6-0 in the first set at #2 before taking the second 6-3. The Foresters other team point against the Raiders came at #6 singles, where Stoler won 6-4, 6-3.
Lake Forest is now 3-4 overall on the season while North Central fell to 2-2 and M.S.O.E. to 3-4.
The Foresters will play at home again next Friday night against Concordia University Wisconsin. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.
