The Lake Forest College men's tennis team had four players compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships in Indianapolis over the weekend. Junior John Snider won his first round match in the B Singles Division.
Snider defeated Justin Delawder of Elmhurst College 7-5, 6-1 in the opening round before falling 6-2, 6-3 to the College of Wooster's Willy Nelson in the round of 32. Sophomore Ellis Lora-Arceo was defeated in his first match as well as in the consolation bracket.
Freshman Dan Pivonka competed in the A Singles Division and was edged out 6-4, 6-7 (8-6), 7-5 in the round of 128. He was leading 6-2, 3-0 in the first round of the consolation bracket when his opponent was forced to retire. On Saturday he dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Kevin Dong of Case Western Reserve University.
Pivonka and Lora-Arceo also competed in the A Doubles Division, where they were defeated 8-5 in the round of 64 before defeating Georges Adam and Brandon Benedict by the same score to begin play in the consolation bracket. They fell 8-4 to Walter Palmer and Karolis Ruzgas of Knox College in Saturday's round of 16.
Snider and sophomore Dragan Trivanovic competed in the B Doubles division but dropped both of their matches.
