Junior forward Charlie Izaguirre scored the game's only goal with 8:17 remaining in the contest as the Forester men's hockey team won 1-0 at Aurora University on Sunday.
Izaguirre's sixth score of the season was assisted by senior forward Justin Pelock and came on the Foresters' fifth power play opportunity of the game. Lake Forest leads the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association and ranks ninth in the nation in power play percentage, converting on 26.1 percent of man-advantage opportunities.
The score made a winner of Forester senior goaltender Billy Cooper, who stopped all 14 shots on goal she faced in the contest, including seven in the final period. He improved to 4-3-0 with a .915 save percentage on the season.
Lake Forest reached double figures in shots on goal in each period and finished with 34 on the day.
The victory raised the Foresters' overall record on the year to 12-9-0 and evened their NCHA mark at 8-8-0. Aurora fell to 4-16-1 overall and 4-11-1 in the league.
Lake Forest will travel to Finlandia University next weekend to face off against the Lions Friday afternoon at 2:00 (ET) and Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (ET).
