Five Lake Forest Seniors to Play in Tazón de Estrellas

Five Lake Forest Seniors to Play in Tazón de Estrellas

The seventh annual Tazón de Estrellas (Game of the Stars) will be played in Baja, Mexico, on December 19 and five Forester football players appear on the 43-member Team Stars and Stripes roster. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (CST) and a live video webcast will be available at http://www.cetys.mx/envivo/.

Representing Lake Forest on defense will be lineman Adam Bernstein, linebackers Sean Chapman and Austin Van Meter, and safety Pat Clark. Bernstein also saw time as an H-back on offense this season while the three seniors ranked among the top five on the team in tackles. The four players combined for 161 stops on the season and 386 during their careers. Chapman and Clark were First Team All-Midwest Conference South Division selections in 2015 and Clark, who ranks tied-for-eighth in program history with 10 career interceptions, was also listed among the league's best as a junior.

Wide receiver George Vidas is the Foresters' lone offensive player participating in the game. He caught 47 passes for 568 yards and seven touchdowns this fall and finished his career with 82 catches, 1,116 receiving yards and a dozen scores.

Team Stars and Stripes will train at the Mexicali, Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, and Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior University campuses in Tijuana. They will then take on the CONADEIP All Stars selected from the CONADEIP private universities in Mexico at the Margarita Astiazrán de Fimbres Stadium in Baja on Saturday. The Tazón de Estrellas series between the great rivals is tied at 3-3.
