Willie McIntyre, Sean Chapman, and Pat Clark were recognized as First Team All-Midwest Conference South Division selections and five other Foresters were named to the Second Team on Wednesday.
McIntyre, a wide receiver, ranked eight in the MWC with 51 receptions, sixth with 757 receiving yards, and fourth with nine touchdown catches. He had at least two receptions in every game and five or more seven times. McIntyre surpassed 100 yards three times and caught at least one touchdown pass in each of the team's final six contests.
Chapman, a senior linebacker, had a team-high 7.0 tackles for loss and also led the Foresters and tied for 10th in the conference with 4.0 sacks. He was third on the team and tied-for-37th in the league with 56 tackles. Chapman became the first Forester in 11 years to record three sacks in a game when he accomplished the feat against Cornell College on October 31.
Clark, a senior safety, ranked fourth on the team with 54 tackles and 21st in the MWC with 6.8 tackles per game. He made at least seven stops in five of his eight appearances and tallied 10 tackles twice. Clark was also a First Team All-MWC South selection last season.
Lake Forest sophomore tackles Andrew Johnson and Tom Steen were named Second Team All-MWC South after blocking for an offense that scored the fourth-most points (263) and averaged the sixth-most total yards per game (375.8) in team history. Two quarterbacks each passed for at least 1,000 yards and the Foresters gained 4.7 yards per carry, the fourth-best mark in team annals.
Junior tailbacks Charlie Quinn and Joey Valdivia joined Johnson and Steen on the South's Second Team. Quinn ran for a team-high 706 yards and his 78.4 rushing yards per game ranked fourth in the league. He gained 100+ yards on the ground four times and scored six touchdowns on the year. Valdivia rushed for 454 yards in six contests, scored five touchdowns, and averaged a team record 7.1 yards per carry. He surpassed 100 yards on the ground twice and his 71-yard touchdown run against Cornell on October 31 was the Foresters' longest play from scrimmage on the year.
Junior defensive end Brendan Power was Lake Forest's lone defensive player on the Second Team. He made 25 tackles on the season, forced and recovered a fumble against Illinois College on October 24, and scored a touchdown on a 64-yard interception return against Beloit College on September 26.
The Foresters' eight All-MWC South selections are two more than the team had a year ago.
Lake Forest posted a 4-6 overall record on the season and finished third in the South with a 3-2 mark in divisional play.
