The Lake Forest College football team was defeated 49-0 at Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday.
The Foresters had several opportunities to score early in the contest. Junior Alex Pasiewicz returned the opening kickoff 28 yards to the 40-yardline and the visitors reached the Gusties' 46 before punting. After a Gustavus Adolphus fumble the ball away near midfield on its second play from scrimmage, Lake Forest drove into enemy territory again but a 32-yard field goal attempt was blocked. The Foresters reached the Gusties' 29-yardline on their next drive but were driven back and forced to punt. Finally, trailing 14-0 late in the first half, Lake Forest traveled 83 yards in 17 plays but were unsuccessful on 4th-and-1 from the Gustavus Adolphus 3-yardline.
The Foresters crossed the 50 three more times in the second half but were unable to come away with any points. Gustavus Adolphus was efficient on offense and pulled away for the lopsided victory.
