Lake Forest College football player Pat Clark was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday for his performance in the Foresters' 31-3 victory over visiting St. Norbert College on Saturday.
Clark, a sophomore safety, picked off a pass and returned it 27 yards for a touchown, giving the home team a 14-3 lead with 6:19 to play before halftime. The interception was his third of the year and the team's 20th.
Clark also made five tackles in the game, giving him 28 on the season, which is tied for fifth on the squad. His three interceptions are tied for second.
Lake Forest limited the Green Knights to just 181 yards of total offense in the contest and finished the year ranked first in the league in that category at 282.4 yards per game.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Clark also earned the award on September 30.
