Pat Clark Named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College football player Pat Clark was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday for his performance in the Foresters' 14-7 victory at Knox College on Saturday.

Clark, a sophomore safety, picked off a pair of passes in the game. His returned his first interception 12 yards to the Knox 3, setting up a third quarter touchdown that gave Lake Forest a 14-0 lead. He also stopped the Prairie Fire's final possession of the game by intercepting a pass at the Forester 38 with just 1:14 on the clock. They were his first interceptions of the 2013 season after picking off one pass as a freshman last year.

Clark was also part of four tackles in the game, including one behind the line of scrimmage, and recorded an additional pass breakup.

The Forester defense limited Knox to 213 total yards, forced four turnovers, and tallied nine tackles for loss.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director.
