The Beyond Sports College Network released its All-American teams on Thursday and Lake Forest College senior wide receiver Kevin Davis earned First Team accolades. Forester junior quarterback Pete Scaffidi was an Honorable Mention selection.
Davis shattered the single-season school record with 1,286 receiving yards in 2011 and ranked third in the nation in receiving yards per contest. He also tied the team record for receptions in a season with 77 and finished tied-for-13th in the country in catches per game. Eleven of his receptions were touchdowns, matching his total from last year and the fourth-highest mark in program history. He also had three carries for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Davis caught 23 touchdown passes in his career, the second-highest total in school history, and his 140 receptions and 2,181 receiving yards each rank third in team annals while his 150 points are tied for fifth.
Scaffidi set several team records in 2011, including single-season marks with 2,910 passing yards, 31 touchdown passes, and 238 completions. He posted four of the program's top 10 single-game passing yardage totals and became the first player in school history to throw five touchdown passes in a game, accomplishing the feat twice.
Despite appearing in just 17 games (13 starts), Scaffidi ranks second in team history with 39 touchown passes, and eighth with 1,614 yards. He enters his season season with the program's highest career completion percentage (60.2) and quarterback efficiency rating (137.5).
