The D3football.com All-Region teams were released on Monday and Lake Forest College's Luke Butts was a Third Team All-West Region selection.
Butts, a senior safety, led the Foresters with 80 tackles on the season, including 50 solo stops. He made at least three tackles in every game, recorded six or more stops in eight of 10 contests, and reached double figures three times. Butts also picked off a pair of passes and recorded four additional pass breakups.
Butts finished his career with 329 tackles, the fourth-highest total in program history. He also recorded 10 interceptions, forced four fumbles, and recovered three. He was a First Team All-Midwest Conference selection this season after being named to the Second Team as a sophomore and earning Honorable Mention accolades as a freshman.
He is the first Lake Forest player to earn all-region honors since fellow defensive back Keith Hanson accomplished the feat in 2006.
