The Lake Forest College women's tennis team defeated Pfeiffer University 7-2 in Hilton Head, South Carolina on Tuesday.
The Foresters swept the doubles matches with sophomore Maria Jose Campos and freshman Sara Lopez doubling up the Falcons' best team 8-4 and freshmen Isa Hinojosa and Emily Bross doing the same at #3. Sophomore Margaret Bugnacki and junior Natalia Leite came out on top 8-7 (7-5) at #2.
Bugnacki was much more dominant at #2 singles, where she rolled 6-0, 6-1. After Pfeiffer earned the point at #5, Campos secured the team triumph with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the top of the lineup. Lopez took both sets 6-2 and #3 and Leite prevailed 6-2, 6-0 at #4.
Lake Forest is now 1-1 on the trip and 9-6 for the year. Pfeiffer fell to 3-4.
The Foresters will take on Gettysburg University Wednesday morning at 8:30 (ET).
