The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) have announced that the Lake Forest College men's and women's swimming and diving teams have earned Scholar All-America honors for their efforts in the classroom last semester. The teams earned the honor after posting GPAs of 3.19 and 3.7 respectively.
"Coach Tashlitsky didn't let a difficult season stand in the way of success," noted CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "These are some of the best ambassadors of Lake Forest and Athletic Director Slaats, President Schutt, and Dr. Matthew Kelley (Faculty Athletic Representative) can and should be proud of these 33 men & women."
In total, 721 programs from 426 institutions earned the honor. CSCAA will name its individual Scholar All-America team next week.
Lake Forest's men's team has earned the award for the last 11 semesters. The Forester women's team claimed the Scholar All-America status for 19 out of the last 20 semesters.
Both teams are coached by Vadim Tashlitsky '00.
