Lake Forest College football player Jaylen Johnson was selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday after helping lead his team to a dominating defensive performance in Saturday's 36-3 victory at Beloit College.
The Foresters limited Beloit to -25 yards of total offense and did not allow a first down in the contest.
Johnson led Lake Forest with five tackles, including for solos, on the afternoon. Despite the starters playing a limited number of snaps, the junior defensive tackle matched his career-high with 3.0 tackles for loss and forced a fumble.
Johnson's 11.0 tackles for loss this season are the second-highest total on the team and rank fourth in the Midwest Conference.
D3football.com began naming a Team of the Week in 1999 and Johnson is the 25th Lake Forest player to be honored. He is also the third this season, joining Damon Bonds and Trenton Brail.
