Up Two Spots, Foresters Now 23rd in AFCA Division III Coaches' Poll

The American Football Coaches Association Released its weekly Division III Top 25 Coaches' Poll on Monday and Lake Forest College climbed two spots to 23rd.

The Foresters posted a 40-7 Homecoming victory over Illinois College on Saturday and are now 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Midwest Conference so far this season. They rank 12th in the nation with 45.2 points scored per game, eighth with 7.6 points allowed per contest, and tied-for-third in turnover margin with 14 forced and just three committed.

Saturday's triumph extended Lake Forest's regular season winning streak to 18 games and the team has won 15 in a row against fellow members of the MWC. The Foresters will host Ripon College, who is also undefeated so far this season, Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The AFCA Division III Board of Coaches includes 42 voters representing all Division III conferences. The Division III Coaches' Poll is released on Mondays and will run through the completion of the regular season in mid-November. A final poll will be released on the Monday following the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

Lake Forest was ranked as high as #22 in the poll last year and finished at #23. The Foresters were listed 25th last week.
