The Midwest Conference announced the 2021 All-MWC Women's Tennis Teams on Wednesday and four Foresters were among the North Division honorees.
Earning all-conference honors for the fourth consecutive year was Julie Lord, who entered her senior season as the league's two-time defending champion at #1 singles and a three-time winner at #1 doubles. Lord was 7-2 overall in singles and 8-1 in doubles over the course of the spring. She was also 5-0 in both categories while winning a total of 100 games to her opponents' 16 during the team's five MWC North Division contests. Lord finished her career ranked third in program history with 135 victories in singles and doubles combined and she is easily the program's all-time leader in triumphs at #1 singles (60).
Fellow senior Tyranny Miller, Lord's partner at #1 doubles, was also named All-MWC North on Wednesday. The league's champion at #5 singles and #2 doubles in 2018 played one spot higher in both lineups this spring and posted a 14-4 overall record. She was also undefeated in five divisional contests and finished her career with a league record of 58-4 in singles and doubles combined. Miller's 76 career victories in doubles rank third in program history and she is sixth in team annals with 130 triumphs overall.
Emma Wang joined her two classmates on the 2021 All-MWC North Division Team after going 14-3 at #3 singles and #2 doubles combined this spring. She was undefeated in league play for the second time in three seasons and will graduate later in the month with a 40-1 career record in conference contests. Her 92 career victories rank tied-for-ninth in program history and her overall winning percentage during her three-and-a-half years at the College is .836.
The Foresters' fourth All-MWC North selection, sophomore Natalia Leite, posted a perfect 8-0 record at #6 singles and was 5-1 on the year at #3 doubles. A second consecutive perfect record during league play improved her career mark to 19-0 in conference contests and she is now 29-4 in all matches.
Lake Forest was 7-2 overall and 5-0 in MWC North play this spring. The Foresters were the runners-up in the MWC Tournament and have now finished first or second seven of the last 10 time the event was held.
