CollegeSwimming released its Conference Swimmers of the Week on Tuesday and Lake Forest College seniors Lauren Dalecky and Travis Johnson were the selections for the Midwest Conference.
Dalecky turned in three victories as the Lake Forest College women's swimming and diving team tied Illinois Institute of Technology 110-110 at home on Saturday. She started her afternoon by contributing to a nearly four-second win in the 200m-medley relay (2:09.04). Dalecky then prevailed in a pair of individuals events, touching the wall first in the 50m-freestyle in 29.03 seconds and the 100m-breaststroke (1:19.44).
Johnson was also victorious three times in the Forester men's team's 145-82 dual meet victory over Illinois Tech. His 50m-freestyle split of 24.27 seconds while anchoring the winning 200-meter medley relay was more than a second faster than his counterpart from Illinois Tech. He then prevailed by nine-tenths of a second in the 50m-freestyle (24.28). Finally, Johnson's leadoff split of 24.57 seconds in the 200m-freestyle relay gave the home team an early lead of nearly two seconds.
CollegeSwimming Conference and National Swimmers of the Week are selected from results submitted by midnight (EST) each Monday. Selections are based on quality of swims, individual wins, and team score.
