The Lake Forest Athletics Department will host the two-day Midwest Conference Classic on Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Waukegan Sports Park in Waukegan, Illinois.
The MWC Classic is an annual event that showcases the league's 10 teams - Beloit College, Carroll University, Grinnell College, Illinois College, Knox College, Lake Forest College, Lawrence University, Monmouth College, Ripon College, and St. Norbert College. In softball, the conference is split into two divisions (north and south) and, during the MWC Classic, each team will play all five opposing divisional schools throughout the weekend.
It is also MWC Play for a Cure weekend and shirts will be sold to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. Awareness initiatives include a Remembrance Wall and moment of silence.
Members of the surrounding community are encouraged to attend, as are alumni, staff, and students of Lake Forest College. The cost of admission is $5.00 per day for adults and $3.00 per day for children under 12. Children under five are free. Midwest Conference students are free with a College ID. Parking is $5.00 per day (this is a facility-mandated, non-negotiable fee). Concessions are available.
