Lake Forest College football player Alex Pasiewicz was named to D3football.com's Team of the Week on Tuesday for his role on special teams in the Foresters' 55-13 victory at Cornell College on Saturday.
Pasiewicz, a senior wide receiver and returner, fielded the opening kickoff inside his own end zone and returned it 102 yards for a touchdown. It was the longest kickoff return in program history and the second such score of his career. In addition to 129 yards on returns, his special teams contributions also included a 27-yard run on a fake punt early in the third quarter.
Pasiewicz caught a 17-yard touchdown pass four plays after the fake punt. It was his school record-tying third touchdown catch of the game and he finished the contest with 113 yards on five receptions. Pasiewicz finished the game with 268 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns.
The D3football Team of the Week is comprised of a starting lineup on offense and defense as well as a kicker, punter, returner, and special teams player. Pasiewicz, who was also named Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week on Monday, joins senior running back Joey Valdivia as 2016 honorees and Forester players have now made the list 17 times since 1999.
