Sophomore Emma Wang kept her singles winning streak intact but Lake Forest was defeated 7-2 by Georgetown College Thursday in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The Foresters were swept in the doubles competition for the first time since March 16 of last year.
A 6-2, 6-4 victory by freshman Katie Wegrecki at #6 singles was followed by Wang's 6-1, 6-4 triumph at #5, making the score 3-2 in favor of the Tigers. Lake Forest was shut out the rest of the way, although two of the other four matches went to third set super-tiebreakers.
The Foresters are now 14-2 on the season after splitting four matches during the team's Spring Break trip. Georgetown improved to 7-2.
Lake Forest's next match will be at home against Augustana College on Sunday, March 24, and the contest will be played indoors at the nearby Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
