Lake Forest College tennis played Tyranny Miller was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping her team reach the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament last weekend.
Miller, a sophomore, played at #2 doubles with senior Allison Watts. They began the weekend by defeating their counterparts from Luther College 8-2 in the Foresters' 5-1 opening round victory on Friday. It was the duo's 27th win of the season and 48th in their two seasons together. Both marks are program records.
Lake Forest fell 5-0 to the University of Chicago, the top-ranked team in the Central Region, in the second round on Saturday. The closest of the five completed matches was at #2 doubles where Miller and Watts were edged out 8-5.
After just two seasons, Miller already ranks ninth in program history with 84 career victories (against just 13 losses) in singles and doubles combined.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
