The Lake Forest College women's soccer team blanked visiting Ripon College 6-0 on Saturday for its third victory in as many games this year.
Sophomores Raven Dziedzinski and Alyssa Xanos factored in the scoring of five of the Foresters' six scores. Xanos put a left-footed shot into the right corner of the goal after a failed clear attempt to give the home team the lead less than four minutes into the contest. It was her second official game-winning goal of the year and third in her career.
The Foresters' lead doubled at the 10:36 mark when Dziedzinksi also found the right side of the net for her second score of the season.
Five minutes later a Xanos corner kick nearly reached the ground within 10 yards of the goal, where senior defender Morgan Henrichs sent it in for her first score of year.
The second goal of the game and team-high seventh this season for Xanos came at the 21:38 mark. She secured the ball after a Ripon goal kick and her shot from 30 yards out was slowed by the leaping goalkeeper but still snuck in under the crossbar.
Lake Forest's final goal of the first half came from sophomore Iman Shepard, who made a diagonal run in from the left side of the field and received a pass from freshman Madi Moser before scoring for the first time this year.
The home team tacked on a final goal 10 minutes into the second half. Dziesdzinski set up the counter attack score with a pass ahead to junior Julia Larson, who now has five goals on the season and at least one in each game. Dziedzinski leads the squad with six assists.
Three Forester goalkeepers saw action in the shutout, beginning with junior Maggie Kersting for the entire first half. The trio's only save came from freshman Aarti Singh, who started the second half and was replaced by junior Sandra Greco for the final 12:29.
Lake Forest is 3-0-0 for the second straight season while Ripon fell to 0-2-0.
The Foresters will host a scrimmage against Carthage College Friday at 4:30 p.m.
