Lake Forest College women's soccer player Michelle Greeneway was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday after scoring four goals in the team's 7-2 victory over Knox College last Saturday.
Greeneway, a junior forward, started the scoring at the 3:53 mark and her second goal of the contest gave the Foresters a 3-0 lead after less than 15 minutes of play. She assisted on a goal at 24:20 before exiting the first half three minutes later.
Entering the game two goals shy of the program's single-season record of 25 she set last year, Greeneway broke the record at the 50:19 mark and then added her 27th of the season at 60:08. Her four goals and nine points on the day are both career-highs and she now has three hat tricks this year and ninth of her career.
Greeneway's 27 goals and 63 points lead the conference and rank seventh in the country. She is also tied for the national lead with 10 game-winning goals. After less than three seasons, her 158 career points and 68 goals are easily program records.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information. Greeneway has now earned the award four times this season and five times in her career.
