The Forester women's golf team played a round against Benedictine University on Sunday. The Eagles had just three players so no team scores were kept.
Sophomore Makayla Sanchez and freshman Emily Tao tied for the best score of the day with matching rounds of 87 on the par-71, 5,816-yard course at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club in West Chicago. Sanchez had five pars in a six-hole stretch at one point while Tao carded a birdie and four pars in her Forester debut.
Lake Forest freshman Lucy Rayburn and Emma Ackland were next in the field with scores of 91 and 96, respectively, giving the Foresters their best round of the year at 361.
The team will travel just north of the state line to compete in Carthage College's Firebird Spring Invitational this Saturday and Sunday. The event will take place at Bristol Oaks Country Club in Bristol, Wisconsin.
