The Forester track team made its 2021 debut on Saturday at the Illinois College Invite.
The highlight of the meet for Lake Forest was senior Audrey Paglia's victory in the mile. With a time of 5:35.96, she edged out classmate Yaneli Guajardo by less than a second in her first appearance in the event as a Forester. Gniady, Guajardo, and senior Anna Mollnhuber went 1-2-3 in the 11-runner event.
Junior Christian Reyes was sixth in the men's mile, finishing in 4:51.27.
It was the only indoor meet of the season for the Foresters, who will be in action again once the outdoor season begins.
