Lake Forest College swimmer Alec Pittman was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance at the Carthage Classic over the weekend.
Pittman started the meet with a victory in Thursday night's 1650-freestyle and his time of 16:27.61 made him the second-fastest swimmer in program history in that event. It was also the best time in the MWC in that event so far this season, as was the 4:16.52 he posted while placing fourth in the 400-IM on Saturday. Pittman added a fourth-place finish and time of 4:49.33 in Friday's 500-freestyle and he was ninth in the 200-IM that day as well. He also competed on three relays over the course of the weekend.
The Foresters finished third out of 10 teams at the meet.
