Lake Forest College swimmers Garr Punnett and sophomore Emile Siroit were recently recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for their academic and athletic accomplishments in 2014.
Punnett, a senior, and Siroit, a sophomore, were named Honorable Mention Scholar All-America after recording a GPA of 3.50 and posting times that made them eligible for selection to the NCAA Division III Championship Meet. Punnett posted a B-cut qualifying time in the 100-butterfly and both swimmers accomplished the feat in the 200-butterfly. However, they were not chosen to compete in the NCAA Championships.
It was the second straight season Punnett has earned the honor, having also surpassed a 3.50 grade point average and recorded B-cut qualifying times in both butterfly events as a junior.
