The Lake Forest College men's tennis team hosted and defeated St. Norbert College 9-0 on Sunday.
Senior Oliver Gallego and sophomore Zach Cho started the sweep with an 8-3 victory at #3 doubles. Sophomore Jacob Tilton and senior Zach Christensen were next to finish, doubling up their counterparts at #2 8-4. The closest match of the day came at #1 doubles, where sophomore Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and senior Chase Garber edged out the Green Knights' top tandem 8-7 (8-6).
Tilton did not drop a game at #3 singles the clinching point came from Vyshyvanyuk's 6-0, 6-2 triumph at the top of the lineup. Cho and freshman Eduardo Manuitt won 6-2, 6-3 at #4 #5, respectively and Garber had the same set scores in the other order in his victory at #2. Gallego prevailed 6-3, 6-0 at #6.
The Foresters are now 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Midwest Conference North Division play this season. St. Norbert fell to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Lake Forest will host Ripon Tuesday afternoon at 3:00.
