The Forester men's tennis team began the 2021 season with an 8-1 loss at North Central College Saturday night. The match was played at Five Star Tennis Center in Plainfield, Illinois.
The only point of the match for the visitors was earned by sophomore Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk at the top of the singles lineup. After dropping the first set 6-2, he took the second by the same score and clinched the victory with a 10-6 triumph in the super tie breaker.
Vyshyvanyuk is now 11-2 at #1 singles in his career.
North Central improved to 4-0 on the season.
The Foresters will take on host Wheaton College at Centre Court Athletic Club in Hanover Park, Illinois, next Friday at 6:00 p.m.
