The Forester men's tennis schedule for 2021-22 was announced on Wednesday.
Select players on the team will open the season in the fall at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Tournament. The dates and location of the event has yet to be announced by the ITA.
Lake Forest's first dual match opponent of 2021-22 will be Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Foresters will host the Raiders at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff on Saturday, February 12, and travel to Edgewood College and Carthage College for additional non-conference matches the next two Saturdays.
The destination of Foresters' annual spring break trip will be Hilton Head, South Carolina, where the team will take on opponents from around the country during the second week of March. Those contests on the schedule will be updated as match opponents, dates, times, and locations become available.
Additional non-conference matches will likely be added at a later date.
With seven men's tennis teams in the Midwest Conference, league play will take just three Saturdays. Lake Forest will begin its MWC slate by making the trip to Iowa to play Cornell College and Grinnell College on April 2. The Foresters will then host Illinois College and Monmouth College a week later and take on visiting Lawrence University and Ripon College on April 16.
The top four teams in the conference will gather at the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wisconsin, for the MWC Team Tournament on Friday, April 29. The other three league members will join them for the MWC Individual Tournaments over the weekend. In addition to the title, the team champion also earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The 2021-22 season will be Scot Reinhart's second as the program's interim head coach. In 2021 he led the Foresters to their fifth runner-up finish in the last six conference tournaments.
