Freshman goalkeeper Jan Roessler made four saves but the Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by visiting Knox College on Monday.
All four of Roessler's saves came in the first half.
The Foresters out-shot the visitors 6-5 in the game's final 45 minutes but were unable to score. The Prairie Fire netted the only goal of the contest at the 73:12 mark and hung on for the victory.
Lake Forest is now 9-6-1 overall this season and 6-2-0 in Midwest Conference play. Knox improved to 13-2-3 overall and 8-0-0 in the conference.
The Foresters will close out the regular season at Ripon College on Saturday. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
Lake Forest has clinched the #3 seed in the four-team MWC Tournament, which will begin on Friday, November 3. The team's semifinal opponent will be the loser of Saturdays game between Knox and St. Norbert College while the winner will be the #1 seed and tournament host.
