The Lake Forest College men's soccer team came from behind to defeat host Benedictine University 2-1 Tuesday night. The Foresters are now 5-0-0 on the season. Senior Chris Haught-Thompson's first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner.
Both teams attempted eight shots in the opening half but Benedictine scored the only goal of the period with 3:40 left on the clock.
Senior Stephen Egan recorded a team-high four assists in the Foresters' first four games and netted hi first goal of the year at 63:03. Sophomore's Alexi Spiratos and Mahir Mameledzija assisted on the score. Spiratos also set up Haught-Thompson four minutes and 16 seconds later and the visitors held on for the victory.
Lake Forest had a 7-6 advantage in shots in the second half and 15-14 edge in the game.
Forester junior goalkeeper Giovani Colasanti recorded seven saves to earn the victory. He is now 5-0-0 with a 0.79 goals against average on the year.
Lake Forest will play at Concordia University Chicago Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
