Lake Forest College men's hockey player Billy Cooper was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his 42-save performance at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls last Friday.
Cooper, a junior goaltender, stopped all 19 shots on goal he faced in the first period against the nation's 13th-ranked team. He also made a dozen saves in the second, 10 in the third, and one more in overtime. A pair of third period goals by Lake Forest evened the score at two in the third period and the visitors netted the game-winner at 3:25 in the extra period. It was Cooper's first victory since November 23, 2013.
Cooper is now 1-1-0 with a .898 save percentage this season.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletics Department on Thursdays.
