Freshman forward Annie Dalton scored to tie the score and the Lake Forest College women's hockey team went on to defeat host St. Norbert College 2-1 on Saturday.
Dalton's ninth goal of the season tied the score at one at the 19:07 mark of the opening period. She was assisted by sophomore defenseman Amanda Boisjolie and sophomore forward Lexi Morgan.
The Foresters had an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal in the first period and outshot the home team 16-5 in the second. The only score of the second stanza came from freshman Jordan Trapp at 4:52. Morgan and senior defenseman Kayla Griffith set up Trapp's third goal of the series and seventh of the season. It was her first career game-winner.
Both teams put six shots on goal in a scoreless third period as Lake Forest hung on for the victory.
Forester sophomore goaltender Jacque Rogers made 16 saves on the afternoon and improved to 9-4-0 with a .924 save percentage and 1.46 goals against average this year.
It was the sixth consecutive victory for the Foresters, who are now 15-8-0 overall and 13-3-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. St. Norbert fell to 8-12-3 overall and 8-6-2 in the league.
Lake Forest will close out the regular season with a pair of games against the College of St. Scholastica at home next weekend. The teams will face off Friday night at 7:00 and against at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
