Sam Schuring Named Midwest Conference Player of the Week

Lake Forest College women's basketball player Sam Schuring was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week on Monday after establishing two career-highs and tying another in two games last week.
Schuring, a sophomore point guard, began the week by leading the Foresters with 18 points and four assists in a 68-66 overtime loss to visiting Illinois College. She also pulled down a career-high nine rebounds and recorded five steals, matching her career-high in that category.
Lake Forest won 70-59 at Grinnell College on Saturday, thanks in large part to a career-high 22 points from Schuring, who also added six rebounds and five assists in the contest.
For the week Schuring averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. She is now tied for the league lead with 4.6 assists per game and also ranks among the top 10 in scoring and steals.
