Alex Messacar Named Midwest Conference Player of the Week

Lake Forest College women's basketball player Alex Messacar was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week on Monday after knocking down five three-pointers in each of three games during the previous seven days.
Messacar started the week with a career-high 21-point performance in a 77-45 victory over Knox College on Tuesday. She made five of 10 three-pointers in the game and added four rebounds and two steals.
She then helped lead Lake Forest to a 76-46 rout of Ripon College on Friday by shooting 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and recording 17 points and four assists.
On Saturday the Foresters were defeated 73-60 by Beloit College and Messacar made five more three-pointers and had three steals in another 17-point effort.
Messacar averaged 18.3 points per game on the week and led the team in scoring in all three contests. She shot 15-for-33 (45.5%) on three-pointers in the three games combined.
