Freshman Max Rowland earned 57 points on his own to help lead the Lake Forest College men's swimming and diving team to a victory at the six-team Gene Davis Invitational at Lawrence University on Saturday. The Forester women placed fourth.

Rowland finished first in the 400-IM in 4:29.44 and the 1650-freestyle with a time of 17:18.65. He was also the runner-up in the 500-freestyle in 5:04.27. Rowland lapped the field in the 1650 and won by 43 seconds.

Forester junior diver Heath Ogawa also won a pair of events, taking the 3-meter event with 467.40 points and tallying 456.98 points off the 1-meter board.

Senior David Bunting led Lake Forest's 1-2-3 finish in the 200-IM, touching the wall first with a time of 2:02.95. Freshmen Nathan Ulm and Evan Weller were second and third, respectively, in 2:07.28 and 2:07.97.

Other individual event victories for the Foresters were turned in by junior Frederick Weichmann in the 100-backstroke (57.35 seconds), Ulm in the 100-butterfly (54.44 seconds), and Weller in the 200-butterfly (2:04.09).

The Lake Forest men finished second to Ripon College in all three relays. Additional runner-up finishes were posted by senior Landon Longfield in the 200-freestyle (1:52.73), Weller in the 400-IM (4:33.34), and Weichmann in the 200-backstroke (2:05.78).

Sophomore Rachel Trevillian also prevailed in an individual event, out-touching the runner-up in the 400-IM by .08 seconds and winning in 5:01.67.

Lake Forest was second in the women's 200-medley and 200-freestyle relays and fourth in the 400-freestyle relay.

The Forester men finished the meet with 547 points, 81 more than second-pace University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Carroll University finished first on the women's side with 582 points and were followed by Oshkosh with 543, Lawrence with 506, and Lake Forest with 498.
