Lake Forest College diver heath Ogawa was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance at Saturday's UIC Diving Invitational.
Ogawa, a junior, won the 3-meter competition with 343.20 points for his six dives, nearly four more than the runner-up from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was also second off the 1-meter board by just .55 seconds with a score of 318.05. It was the first event this season he did not win.
Ogawa was one of four NCAA Division III athletes in the 12-diver field, which also included six from Division I institutions and two from a junior college.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information. Ogawa also earned the award in back-to-back weeks in January, once in November, and twice during each of his first two seasons.
