The Lake Forest College swimming & diving teams swept visiting Monmouth College on Saturday with the women winning 117-86 and the men prevailing 124-61. Forester sophomore Kelsie Miller won both of her individual events and led off the victorious 200-medley relay.
Miller, freshman Peyton Sukenic, and seniors Becky Shaak and Meghan Mason started off the meet with a winning time of 2:15.23 in the 200m-medley relay. The Forester men also won the event with freshman Emile Siroit, senior Alex Marks, junior David Albion, and senior Diego Ledesma finishing in 1:55.52.
Lake Forest swept the next two events. Junior Loren Dutca and freshman Armel Cazedepats prevailed with times of 10:00.44 and 9:23.02, respectively, in the 800m-freestyle. Miller took the women's 200m-freestyle in 2:20.61 and junior Garr Punnett won the men's race in 2:00.86.
Monmouth got a victory in the women's 50m-freestyle but junior Zach Wenner got the Foresters back to their winning ways in the men's race, finishing in 25.05 seconds.
Freshman Arlyn Bateman (2:39.68) and sophomore Kevin Barbrick (2:18.74) swept the 200m-individual medley and Bateman and (1:11.37) and Wenner (1:01.17) won the 100m-butterfly.
The diving competition was dominated by the Foresters. Sophomore Christina Pekar won with 228.75 points off the 1m board and senior Sam Gardner's 242.45 points were the highest mark in the 3m competition. On the men's side junior Matt Perry posted the best marks in both the 1m (202.95) and 3m (207.80) events.
The Fighting Scot women recorded another victory in the 100m-freestyle and Ledesma took the men's race in 55.95 seconds.
Shaak and Punnett posted vistories in the 100m-backstroke in 1:12.59 and 1:01.08, respectively. Miller followed with a time of 4:54.43 and victory in the 400m-freestyle and Siroit completed the sweep of the event with a winning time of 4:32.08.
The Scots won the women's 100m-breaststroke and Marks finished first in the men's race in 1:08.36.
Monmouth won both the women's and men's 200-freestyle relays.
The Foresters next competition will be another dual meet at Carthage College next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
