The Lake Forest College men's soccer team prevailed 3-2 at Milwaukee School of Engineering, the sixth-ranked team in the Central Region (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). Forester junior Mahir Mameledzija scored a pair of goals for the third game in a row.
Mameledzija started the scoring with an unassisted goal less than eight minutes into the contest. He was assisted by fellow junior Alexi Spiratos.
M.S.O.E. tied the game at the 19:57 mark and the score remained 1-1 for the rest of the first half.
The home team pulled ahead just 37 seconds into the second period but Mameledzija netted his second goal of the game and team-high seventh this season at 60:19 to tie the score again. His 33rd career goal was assisted by junior Steven Johnson.
The game winner was scored with 5:19 remaining in regulation by Forester junior Jordan Hartman. Freshman Jeremiah Erzen assisted on Hartman's second goal of the year.
Three of Lake Forest sophomore goaltender Ian Taylor's four saves came in the final 45 minutes as he improved to 2-0-0 on the year.
The Foresters and Raiders are now both 3-1-0 on the season.
Lake Forest's next game will be at Edgewood College Wednesday night at 7:00.
