Freshmen James Johnson and Connor Lindley posted their best scores of the fall during Monday's second and final round of the MSOE Invitational at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Johnson's even-par 72 on The Brute matched the Foresters' lowest score of the season and featured five birdies, including three in a row on the front nine. He finished Sunday's opening round at The Highlands at 5-over 76 and tied for ninth place in the tournament's 83-player field. His 148 overall is the team's best 36-hole score of the year and ranks tied-for-10th in recorded program history.
Lindley's 75 on Monday was five shots better than his opening round and he tied for 39th place overall. Fellow freshman Jack Dwyer improved by one shot and classmate Anthony Scarletta by two on Monday with matching rounds of 79. They tied for 52nd and 58th place, respectively. Freshman Carlos Garcia Bodini turned in a pair of 86s at the event to place 77th.
The Foresters' team score of 305 on Monday is the 14th-best round in school history and was a dozen strokes better than Sunday's 317.
Edgewood College won the tournament with a two-day score of 588, three shots better than runner-up Concordia University Wisconsin. Lake Forest was in 11th place, just behind Carroll University and ahead of Elmhurst College.
It was the Foresters' final tournament of the fall semester.
