Lake Forest College men's golfer Jacob Krugman was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in a triangular against Wisconsin Lutheran College and North Park University in Southern Pines, North Carolina, last Tuesday.
Krugman, a freshman, was fourth in the field with a round of 77 in the cold and windy conditions at the 6,354-yard, par-71 course at Sourth Pines Golf Club. He was five over par with a 40 on the front nine before closing with a birdie, six pars, and a score of 1-over 37 on the final nine holes.
Lake Forest finished behind Wisconsin Lutheran but ahead of North Park in the team standings.
Krugman has now scored in the 60s of 70s in seven of his nine rounds this year and leads the Foresters with a scoring average of 76.67.
