The Midwest Conference released the 2016 MWC Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday and Lake Forest College was listed fifth. The Foresters finished seventh last year in their first season as a varsity sport since 1970.
Voting is done by the MWC head men's golf coaches. Each coach votes for the seven other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (seven points for first, six for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own teams.
The Foresters played in four tournaments in the fall and posted a scoring average 26 strokes per round better than in 2014-15. The team will open the spring at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, Thursday afternoon at 2:00 (EST). This year's MWC Championships will be held April 28-30 at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Illinois.
