Tyler Boyce joined the Forester coaching staff in 2018 and has been coaching volleyball at various levels since 2015. He assists the head coach in all phases of the program.
Boyce helped lead Lake Forest to a 5-4 record in Midwest Conference play in his first season with the program. Grace Larson was a Second Team All-MWC selection and one of eight members of the team to earn Academic All-MWC honors.
In addition to his role at Lake Forest, Boyce has been the Club Director of Illinois Juniors Volleyball since 2016. Under his direction, the program's coaching staff and number of National Level teams have more than doubled and participation at the club level has increased significantly as well. More than 110 athletes between the ages of 10 and 17 are now part of the program. Boyce has also recently taken on the role of Beach Director of Wisconsin Juniors Beach Volleyball, one of the largest beach volleyball programs in the state.
Boyce's coaching experience also includes three season at Lakes Community High School, where he served as an assistant coach the first two years before taking over as co-head coach for the third. His team prevailed in all seven of its Northern Lake County Conference contests and recorded a school record 19-match winning streak in 2017.
Boyce's playing career includes three seasons as a starter at Robert Morris University in Chicago and one at Lakeland University in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He served as a team captain at both schools and continues to hold the program record for aces in a season (40) at Lakeland, where he majored in business management and graduated in 2014.
A graduate of Zion-Benton High School, Boyce currently resides in nearby Zion, Illinois.
