Pat Borer joined the Forester coaching staff in 2021.
Borer came to Lake Forest after two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of New England. The Nor'easters were 22-5-3 overall and 14-2-2 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play during his time on staff. They captured a league title and were ranked as high as sixth in the nation in 2019-20. His collegiate coaching experience also includes a season as an assistant coach at SUNY Potsdam in 2016-17.
A former assistant coach at the prep level in Minnesota as well, Borer spent the 2015-16 campaign at Armstrong/Cooper Wings High School in Plymouth and, after his year at Potsdam, spent a pair of seasons (2017-19) at Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in St. Louis Park. During both stints he also served as a regional scout for teams in the North American Hockey League.
Borer's collegiate playing experience includes a season at NCAA Division I Niagara University and two at New England. The defenseman racked up 20 points on four goals and 16 assists in 54 career games. He graduated from New England with a degree in sports and recreational management and concentration in sports management in 2016.
