Lake Forest College will wait until the end of the 2011 football season to conduct a national search for the Forester head football coaching position, Athletic Director Jackie Slaats announced on Tuesday. The search was originally scheduled for December 2010.
"The search has been delayed for several reasons," Slaats began. "We have determined that it will be better for the football program and the College to conduct the search a year from now."
Slaats also said that Interim Head Coach Jim Catanzaro has agreed to continue in his current position through the 2011 season. "I am very pleased that Jim is ready and willing to do this," she stated. "The College and I look forward to his continued leadership of our football program."
The Foresters finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 2-8 with both victories coming in Midwest Conference play. Eleven seniors from this year's team are set to graduate in May and 63 lettermen (14 juniors, 17 sophomores, and 32 freshmen) are expected to return for the 2011 season.
