Brianne Honda Named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College volleyball player Brianne Honda was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in a pair of victories in the last seven days.
Honda tallied a match-high 20 digs, nearly one-third of the team's total, in the Foresters' 25-23, 25-19, 25-23 triumph at Marian University last Wednesday. It was her third consecutive match and sixth this seaosn with at least 20 digs.
Lake Forest won 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21 at Illinois College on Saturday and Honda's 33 digs were nine more than her previous career-high. She also recorded six assists and served up a pair of aces in the match.
Honda leads the Foresters with 314 digs on the season and now ranks 10th in program history with 1,067 in her career.
